Challenge Real Madrid had to go through to clinch their 34th la liga tittle

On Thursday last week, Real Madrid won the la liga tittle for a record of 34th against Villarreal with a score line of 2 goals to 1,thanks to Karim Benzema brace but we will all agree that Madrid has had things Rosy since their star man Ronaldo left in 2018. Cristiano Ronaldo departure to Juventus, his place in Real Madrid hasn’t fully been filled, not undermining the abilities of Ramos and Benzema, Madrid ended last season trophyless and hoping to turn things around in 2019/2020 season, which they did by clinching the la liga tittle, but you will agree with me that they had to go through some obstacles

Here are some of the obstacles they had to over come

  1. A disastrous pre-season

Neither the results nor the performances caused reason for optimism last summer, with a 7-3 defeat to Atletico Madrid in New Jersey a definite low point.

“The season is going to be a good one,” insisted Zidane, who turned out to be right.

  1. Asensio’s absence
Marco Asensio picked up a serious knee injury during a friendly with Arsenal during the pre-season tour. He was to play well under Zidane as seen the previous years but was ruled out of the entire season but due to the pandemic and break he was able to feature in Madrid game against Valencia where he just needed just one touch
  2. Where did Bale go to?
The entire la liga season, the man rooted to carry Madrid after Ronaldo left, just manage 2 goals and all his remaining games feature where poor,no wonder he was benched on almost every match after the break. And he didn’t fail to impress on the bench, lolzz with his controversial behaviors
  3. Many wonder if Hazard was a flop and Madrid made a mistake to buy him
Eden Hazard was an integral piece in Zidane’s rebuilding task, but he missed most of the season through injury. The former Chelsea man suffered two ankle injuries and, even when he was involved at the start and end of the campaign, he wasn’t in top form.

5.A month of disaster
In the space of a couple of weeks in February, Real Madrid lost it.They surrendered top spot in LaLiga Santander to Barcelonaafter drawing with Celta Vigo and losing to Levante, while they were beaten by Manchester City at home in the Champions League.

  1. No Santiago Bernabeu
Upon returning to action in June, Real Madrid chose to play their remaining matches at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano while the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu was being redeveloped.

There were questions over how well they would perform but they manage to prove doubters wrong by winning all their home games

  1. Injuries and suspension through out the season was a major challenge
The like of Asensio,Hazard, Bale, and many others including that of their captain Ramos suspension
  2. VAR controversy
Madrid was always accused of winning their games thanks to VAR controversial penalties awarded to them and opponent been denied when it was clearly a foul or a penalty. This would have affected Madrid psychologically and affected their games but no,they put it behind them and let those that have mouth do the talking and they use their legs to do the rest

9.After the break they had to win all

Going 11 games winning isn’t really a big deal for a team as prestigious as Madrid but doing so with all games within an interval of 3 days is epic having to play team like Valencia, Villarreal, etc and they were able to overcome

Let stop hating and celebrate them they deserve. # Hala Madrid
